Please read our Hiya FAQ: Android if you have any additional questions about the steps below.
You can find our app to download in the Google Play Store if you search for "Hiya."
Or tap here if you are on your phone to install.
Tap "Install" to download the app.
After you download the app and open it for the first time you will see the below screen.
You will need to agree to the Terms of Service and Data Policy to continue. You can click on the links for them to read it in full.
You will then be asked to choose to set Hiya as the default Phone app or not as seen in the screen below.
Although you can use the app as a default dialer, we don't suggest you should at this point. We still haven't added all the necessary features to the dialer yet.
You can find how to change the default dialer back to the phone's native dialer here: https://www.androidauthority.com/change-default-apps-android-2-633572/
You will need to allow Hiya manage phone calls for it to block calls, as seen below.
Hiya will also need access to the call logs to show caller IDs for calls that you have received. You will need to tap Allow as seen below.
You will have to enable "Draw over other apps" for Hiya to show the caller ID for a call as it is incoming. You will need to follow the steps on the screens below and toggle the switch on.
After you allow Hiya to display over other apps, tap back and go back into the app.
If you tap on the Premium tab along the bottom of the app you will have to option to subscribe to the Premium version of the app.
You can learn more about Hiya Premium here.
If you scroll down on the Premium tab you will see the option to Restore Subscription. This option will bring back the Premium version of the app if you are already subscribed.
To start blocking numbers, tap on the "Blocking" tab along the bottom of the app. Then tap on the Block List option. One there, tap on the "+" sign in the bottom left of the screen to block.
To block an entire area code or country code you should use the "Numbers that begin with" option. You can learn more about that here: Hiya: Android Spoofed Calls / Neighbor Scam
To update your auto blocking settings, tap on the Blocking menu on the bottom of the app.
Go to the Settings tab along the bottom and make sure that you allow contacts.
If that does not work I would try uninstalling and the reinstalling the app then trying the steps again.
You can reverse lookup a phone number in the “Keypad” tab along the bottom. If you enter a number you can then either look It up or dial it from that screen as the images below.
You can tap on the name that appears below the phone number to report the number as spam.
